The Himalayan gale tears at the canvas of the tent, the fabric snapping like gunfire against the ridge poles.

You are high on the great Himalayan frontier, where the wind screams like a dying pack-beast and the ice never melts. This was supposed to be a historic 1924 expedition—a conquest of the roof of the world. Instead, it became a brutal highland clearance of the weak. Mutiny has left you bound, freezing, and abandoned in a ruined camp. Your treacherous partners have stolen the heavy gear, locking you in a canvas tent. Worse, a nearby lantern has tipped. The sharp, bitter scent of leaking kerosene fills the air, slowly soaking into the final sacks of dry food. If the fuel ruins those rations, your death is written in the snow. Every second matters. You must use your wits, your freezing fingers, and whatever scrap of metal you can reach to shatter your bonds. Once free, you face a desperate journey down the unforgiving mountain trail. Will you escape the icy grave they prepared for you, or will the cold claim you first?

The numbness creeping into your extremities has passed through simple ache into a dead, wooden silence. Twenty minutes ago, Alistair MacIntyre stood over you with his handlebar mustache caked in frost, cinching the final knot while Evelyn Rowe watched from the storm flap, her tight braids tucked beneath her shearling hood and her face turned away from the lantern. They stripped the expedition ledger, the survey maps, and the primus stove before hauling their sledges into the squall toward the pass. But in their haste, MacIntyre's heavy boot kicked over a brass hurricane lamp. A thin, greasy pool of kerosene now seeps across the frozen floorboards, steadily soaking into the coarse burlap sacks holding the expedition's remaining parched grain and dried…
