You stand at the prow of a caravel leaving Puerto Rico in 1513, your fingers raw from salt and hope. Ponce de León’s shadowed cloak flutters against the mast; behind his promise of an ageless spring lie crownly favors, maps scrawled with rumor, and the stubborn belief that time itself can be bargained back. You feel the pull of the unknown—a shoreline no European has named, a chartless labyrinth of marsh and river where legend and ambition meet. The coast that waits is alive and indifferent: choking mangrove, glittering reefs that tear timbers, mosquitoes that hum like accusation, and forests where drums answer the tide. Every feverish night, every whispered mutiny, and every wrong turn in the swelter raises the price of discovery. You taste salt and iron and the dizzying possibility of rewriting history; step ashore and the land will begin to tell its own stories. Are you ready to answer?

A few paces away, Friar Anselmo clutched an iron crucifix against his habit, his expression sour with disapproval. The friar warned that chasing pagan miracles would invite God's wrath and deliver the entire fleet to ruin. Ponce turned his sun-leathered gaze toward you, his trusted navigator. The tide was set to turn before dawn, yet two urgent crises threatened to delay the departure. Down on the lower wharf, a faction of…
