The salt air of Nassau hangs heavy with the scent of rotting kelp and cheap rum. You stand on the splintered docks of the settlement, watching the sun bleed into the horizon.

You stand on the splintered quay of Nassau, salt in your hair and a loaded cutlass at your hip. It's 1716 and the Bahamas bristle with desperate men, greedy galleons, and the thin line between fortune and a rope. You are Charles Vane in the making—bold, ruthless, quick to spark a mutiny when the prize seems worth the blood. Every tavern whisper and moonlit skiff tightens the noose of empire or loosens it with a perfect escape. Rival captains prowl for your throat, royal patrols hunt you with letters of marque, and the loyalty of your crew trembles on a single hard night. You chase plunder through hurricanes and ambushes, barter with rogues, and risk everything to carve a name into the sea. Mutinies and near escapes pull you deeper into a world that is dangerous, alive, and waiting to be claimed.

A small, battered sloop called the Ranger sits moored nearby, barely seaworthy but yours to command if you can find a crew desperate enough to follow. A man with a notched ear approaches, his eyes darting toward the governor’s mansion on the hill. He whispers of a merchant vessel, the Royal Merchant, currently anchored off the coast with a cargo of sugar and Spanish silver. He claims the guards are lax, distracted by the ongoing festivities in the tavern. The opportunity is ripe for the taking, yet you lack the supplies to sustain a voyage, and the local magistrate has been sniffing around the docks, looking for any reason to put a noose around your neck. You have enough coin to either bribe the harbormaster to ignore your unsanctioned departure or to purchase enough salted pork and fresh wat…
