You are a high priestess of Knossos, sworn to the ancient earth and the survival of your people. This season, the earth has failed you. The grand storehouses of the palace stand empty, the fields are blackened dust, and starvation looms over the grand court of Crete. Your only hope lies in a desperate, unsanctioned negotiation with the Mycenaean occupational fleet anchored in the bay. But the warrior sent to secure the tribute is no stranger. He is the one who holds your heart—a fierce commander of the mainland shields, whom you have loved in secret beneath the olive groves. To bargain for grain is to walk a razor's edge: the Knossian council watches your every move, eager to brand you a traitor, while his own king demands total submission. As the heat of the Aegean summer intensifies, you must navigate a dangerous game of politics and passion. Will you sacrifice your love to feed your city, or can you find a way to save both Knossos and the warrior who would bleed for you?
