You are a disgraced corporate security specialist, surviving on cheap synthetic stims and a black-market 'Chronos' chip wired directly into your motor cortex. Tonight was supposed to be an easy gig: blend into the background of the Zenith Spire gala, watch the ultra-wealthy toast their record profits, and collect your fee. But the easy night ends in a heartbeat. A champagne bottle shatters, and as the foam opens outward in sparkling, suspended droplets, your neural implant forces you into subjective slow-motion. Hanging in the air beside the rotating glass fragments is a tiny, pressurized aerosol needle—and a bullet heading straight for your client. With every second stretched into minutes, you must untangle an intricate corporate conspiracy, dodge frozen hazards, and identify the killer standing right in front of you. But time is not on your side: every moment you spend in the shivered second brings your brain closer to a fatal thermal meltdown.

You step forward through the heavy, syrup-thick air, a sharp spike of heat already building behind your left temple. Near the neck of the broken bottle, a jagged green shard rotates lazily. Through its refraction, your optic zoom catches something that shouldn't exist in a sommelier's reserve: a microscopic titanium dispersal needle, pressurized and venting a pale blue aerosol directly into the VIP ventilation intake. It is not wine. It is a binary neurotoxin. Your eyes trace the trajectory back to the server who dropped it—a muscular man in a white double-breasted service jacket with brass buttons and a fa…
